I used to be so frustrated with the complexity of the meat goat market.
I’ll never forget before I started raising meat goats, how everyone talked about how lucrative this market was. But…
There isn’t one central resource for farmers to know how to access the “market”
With livestock markets, I was always taking a gamble and never had control over my revenue
There’s a lack of any in-depth guidance on who goat meat consumers are and how to access them
No federal support or resources exist to help producers market and promote goat meat to consumers and retail, such as grocery stories and restaurants
There’s little to nothing on best practices on navigating the goat meat processing side of direct marketing
If you’re anything like me, one or more of the above, this probably hits very close to home!
It’s time to say goodbye to the uncertainty and confusion around goat meat marketing and take the process into your own hands for your farm and family.
Let’s set the course for the direction of your farm without needing to feel floundering on how to actually market your meat goats.
Tell me more!
You know there’s tremendous opportunity for the goat meat industry, but you haven’t figured out a way to find your farm’s fit in the industry:
I was once where you are, and I can help.

Week 1: Today’s Goat Meat Market: A deeper look at industry and consumer trends
We’ll dive even deeper into the dynamics of the U.S. Goat Meat Market, looking at industry trends, and take a more detailed view of market sales opportunities for your meat goats, including the commodity market, wholesale, and direct sales. We will also evaluate today’s goat meat consumer trends and their behavior, as well as understand how to identify your target customer.
Week 2: Meat Goat Production
As a foundation, we’ll briefly cover the basics of what it takes to build a goat herd for meat. We will also discuss how to raise your meat goats for your ideal customer through your selected sales approach. We’ll also touch on raising meat goats for year-round sales and how goat meat can fit with an existing farm operation or how to diversify your revenue with your dairy goat herd or herd used for vegetation or brush management.

Week 3: Goat meat processing and licensing
This module will cover harvest weights and yield estimates, how to navigate the inspection and licensing process for selling goat meat, tips for working with processors and cutting goats, as well as other opportunities to make use of the whole animal.
Week 4: Digital and local marketing strategies
This module will cover the how and why of effective marketing strategies to not only help sell your goat meat, but also help with raising awareness of your farm. I’ll cover digital market strategies for today’s tech-savvy world, but also talk about local marketing strategies that aren’t based on social media. I’ll also share why this can be beneficial even for farms who are selling into the commodity market, or a sales barn.
Live Q&A Zoom Call
I KNOW websites can seem overwhelming with the technology and not to mention what to actually include for content about your farm.
I GET IT. It can be intimidating. But, it really doesn’t have to be.
This workbook will walk you through the foundational website structure of what pages you REALLY need to get started with your farm’s website and prompts to guide you to easily write the content that will live on those pages.
If you sign up by March 6, 11:59 p.m. CST, you’ll also get access to this workbook.

The Academy isn't for you if ...
You want to learn in more detail about the goat meat market and consumer trends and behaviors
You want to know more about what it takes to pursue different sales strategies for your meat goats, including selling direct to consumers or wholesalers
You’ve been raising goats for a while now and want to expand your market opportunities for your herd
You’ve been seriously considering adding meat goats to your farm or starting a herd and are ready to learn more about the goat meat industry and marketing.
You’re just looking for basic information on getting started raising meat goats and starting a goat farm.
You’re interested in selling meat goats for breeding stock, shows or fairs. This program is focused on sales and marketing for meat.
You’re totally content with selling to a livestock market and understand the dynamics of your local market.
You have a sales strategy working well for your farm and you’re happy with where you’re at.
I’m a goat meat farmer first, who’s also a mom, trained-and-experienced marketer, mentor and instructor.
More than 10 years ago I started my farm raising meat goats with the goal of eventually selling meat directly to consumers. Taking small steps along the way, I’ve sold my goats for meat in a variety of ways: livestock markets, halves and wholes, live animals, wholesale and, now by the cut with a nation-wide home delivery option.
I’m passionate about helping others who are interested in raising and marketing meat goats. The resources for us as farmers are scarce. I’ve been there, and I’m still there if I’m totally honest.
But, I’ve learned so much along the way as I’ve grown our direct market business for the farm AND am constantly seeking out what little bits and pieces of information is out there about the market and goat meat as a protein. I want to share that with you.
By the end of the first 12-days of your course you’ll receive access to the first two modules of the Goat Meat Marketing Academy and a Live Q&A Session. If you don’t feel confident in your options for marketing your meat goats by 4 p.m. on March 22, 2023, simply reach out and show me the work you’ve put in and we’ll refund your investment.
