Hi I'm Leslie

I'm a full-time farmer in Western Wisconsin where I raise meat goats and sheep on pasture using regenerative and rotational grazing practices.

I created this website because
I had so many people reaching out, both locally and beyond, wanting to know more about how I was raising and marketing goats.

I also recognized that it IS so hard to find information in this space. I wanted to share what I've learned along the way and reduce your time searching the depths of the internet.

U.S. goat meat industry featured in Offrange magazine

The U.S. goat meat industry is making headlines this week, in the in-depth article, Get Your Goat, published by Offrange, an online magazine for farmers and ranchers that covers industry topics deeper with research and examining what’s driving issues.

The piece takes a serious look at goat meat in the United States, why it remains a small segment of our domestic protein market, and the structural constraints that continue to limit growth.

A few weeks ago I was approached by the journalist who wrote this article to get my perspective as a farmer who raises goats and sells goat meat. We had a really long discussion about the nuances of our industry. Knowing many of the other sources she had talked with for the story, I was curious to see how the article would unfold. It’s a good one.

Aside from featuring our farm, Cylon Rolling Acres, it also includes fellow goat farmers also interviewed in the story, including Clara Hedrich of LaClare Creamery and Calanna Specialty Foods, who’s also in Wisconsin, along with Brian Palmer (whom I haven’t met) of Turning Leaf Ranch in California. You can read the full article here.
